Play bot as a shared-auto tag game, not a Q fishing contest: keep re-tagging one target with your ADC, and in rough lanes use the Renata mains “pool” posture behind your ADC so you can still answer the first hard commit with health and mana left.
Treat Bailout as a takedown bet: W usually belongs on the ally who can still finish the kill, so your positioning should be built around keeping that carry in range instead of panic-saving the first low bar you see.
Hostile Takeover and Handshake are most Renata-shaped after the enemy has already spent movement and started piling in, which fits her data-backed pattern of getting stronger as fights get longer and messier than comparable utility supports.
Start by asking who can turn the next two seconds into a takedown. In most fights that is your fed ADC, skirmishing bruiser, or diver who is already mid-animation and still threatening damage, not the teammate who is lowest and backing out. Cast W slightly before the lethal moment so they can keep hitting instead of receiving it after the fight has already slipped away. If two allies look possible, favor the one you can reliably stay in range of through the next beat of the fight. Renata’s W is strongest when it extends pressure, not when it memorializes a lost trade.
Renata's Attacks deal bonus damage and mark enemies. Renata's allies can damage marked enemies to deal bonus damage.
Renata sends out a missile rooting the first enemy hit, and can recast the ability to throw the unit in a direction.
Renata buffs an allied champion to fight harder, delaying their death and potentially saving them if they get a takedown.
Renata sends out a pair of chemtech missiles, shielding allies and damaging and slowing enemies hit.
Renata sends out a wave of chemicals, causing any enemies hit to go Berserk.
